Overview

Ascot Gardens is a 3-star graded self-catering accommodation in Cape Town's Southern Suburb of Bergvliet. Constantia Valley is ideally situated within 20-30 minutes drive from Cape Town City, the waterfront, beaches and the airport.

The 7 fully equipped self-catering suites are situated in a beautiful 1-acre garden. Each room presents private entrances, covered outdoor patios with their own braai areas; free Wi-Fi, TV with full premium DStv, DVD's, music centers, clock radios, wall safes and ceiling fans. All bed linen, bath towels, utensils, and crockery are provided. There is an ironing board and iron in each suite, plus garbage bags, toilet rolls and dish washing liquid.

Each allocated and secure, off-street parking bay, is accessed via a remote controlled security gate. Available for guests shared use, is a fenced swimming pool, sun lounges, laundry, library with information brochures and a prepaid telephone. Also on offer is free use of the guest computer with Skype, plus wireless internet connection to all suites.

Owner and managers Lesley and Barry Edkins, live on an adjoining property and therefore do not encroach on guests privacy. No dogs, cats or noisy children of their own, will be disturbing the quiet and peaceful garden surroundings.

FOR YOUR OWN AND OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY , please observe the following rules
On arrival and before entry , every guests temperature will be taken and approved and recorded before occupation is allowed This temp reading will be repeated at any time, if recorded as being dangerously high, but will be recorded at least once per week for longer stays

COVID 19 Warning signs If your temperature reading is higher than 37.5C
Should you lose your sense of taste , start coughing or have a sore throat , or find it difficult to breathe , please discuss with your fellow guests in unit and your employer and seek medical advice from the COVID HOTLINE

Should you be required to self-isolate until tests are received and given the all clear , discuss separate self isolation options with Barry , your landlord

Kindly observe social distancing of 2 metre spacing at all times and wear masks outside especially if you come into contact with other ASCOT guests or ASCOT cleaning staff or adjoining Elderly Persons Care Home

Please use our hand sanitizer provided for the unit and use on surfaces and wash hands with soap and hot water from kettle whenever you enter the unit and as often as possible

Bed linen and towels will be changed with the cleaning and sanitizing of unit every 7 nights

1 (SAME COLOUR) HAND TOWEL AND (SAME COLOR ) BATH TOWEL is issued for each person and will be changed weekly on service day . Remember your colour and do not use other persons towels
Hang up towels on chairs on patio or wash lines to dry

we provide black garbage bags for the kitchen waste and your full garbage bags are to be tied up tightly and placed outside your entrance door Please assist with recycling by putting your glass/ bottles and paper and plastic and tins in separate bags

No soap is provided however We do provide toilet rolls , liquid soap for hand washing as well as dish washing liquid and pine disinfectant for the toilet .

Please save water IF ITS YELLOW LET IT MELLOW! And take short showers of no longer than 2 minutes PLEASE DO NOT USE THE BATH

. A laundry is located on main road near Tops only 5 minutes walk away

BEACAUSE OF COVID 19 We no longer have a library or swimming pool available to guest as pool is on the property of the CARE HOME

NB Hot water geezers are on timers and set to provide hot showering water for approximately 2 hours from 5 pm in evening and approximately for 2 hours from 6 am in morning ( discuss with Barry or Sheila asap if you have any hot water problems as these timers can be adjusted to meet your showering time requirements ) NB these timers need to be adjusted if power outages occur at any time ,Kindly Ask for Barry or Sheila assistance

Cape Town has a shortage of drinking water and has introduced water restrictions .

We supply all bed linen and bath towels and all utensils and crockery, ironing board and iron

We only service suites approximately every 7 days (for longer stays) when we will sanitize and clean your suite and change bed linen, including replacing bath towels.

we DO NOT service daily but we may enter your suite to remove your kitchen waste and will replace your hand dish washing liquid and toilet rolls , kitchen black garbage bag and toilet rolls when necessary .

We encourage you to recycle any tins, glass, plastic, paper and cardboard into the collection bins provided on the property

We supply bedding, bath towels , toilet rolls, hand dish washing liquid, garbage bags , dish towels and dish cloth but DO NOT supply any personal soap, face cloths or swimming towels. OR INGREDIENTS FOR TEA OR COFFEE

Kindly bring additional towels with you should you like to shower or bath more than once per day .
Please hang up your towels to dry in the bathroom or on patio or on washline provided the nearest available wash line to your unit . ( ask Sheila , the cleaning lady , to advise you of your nearest wash line

FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL GUESTS OUR HOUSE RULES will be strictly enforced, COVID 19 RULES and regulation plus covid form WILL BE SENT TO YOU WHEN YOU BOOK

NO SMOKING in suites allowed. Kindly ask for ashtray and smoke on patio or outside only .
Should a smoke smell be detected in your unit ,a smoke removal charge of R 500 is due and will be charged to you .

NO NOISE or sitting outside AND BBQ after 9 pm especially when arriving home late at night from restaurants or talking loudly or slamming car doors outside units , or when departing from your unit early in the morning .

Kindly REPORT ANY SHORTAGES or breakages , or things not working in your suite , ASAP after arrival.

Any breakage/damage to Ascot Gardens property is payable before departure by the person responsible or the renter of the unit.

BATH TOWELS USAGE and damaged . As damaged towels AND DAMAGED BED LINEN will be charged for, kindly do not use any towels provided for removing your lipstick ,mascara, blood or dirty marks or use these towels for hair peroxide, bleach or dying purpose.

To avoid paying a R 300 KITCHEN cleaning surcharge, kindly wash up all used kitchen utensils and crockery before departure.

Right of Admission Reserved. Occupancy numbers sleeping over only allowed as per confirmed numbers when booked and confirmed .

No more than 4 visitors to guests staying in a unit at ASCOT GARDENS are allowed unless prior permission from management has been asked and given.

Visitors cars to park outside and they must depart quietly by latest 10pm


Rates and discount subject to conditions, and availability and may be changed without notification.

Due to unforeseen circumstances owners/management may change the suite reserved by you for any reason.
You will then be accommodated in a similar suite or more expensive suite at no extra cost to you. ( or refunded the cost difference if down graded into cheaper and smaller suite or refunded if alternate unit offered to you is unsuitable for you )
NB . Beds provided in bedroom in this alternate suite,may differ from the original booked ,but will be either 2 single beds or a Queen size bed.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.
If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.
If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
