Overview

Pelikaan is a log cabin located in Houtbosch Bay, a small private nature reserve on the beach in Aston Bay, just outside Jeffreys Bay and a stone's throw from the Marina Martinique.

The house comprises 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first storey is reached via a wooden staircase and offers a balcony and a view of the reserve. The main bedroom is on this storey and contains a queen-size bed and the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. These rooms share a bathroom with a shower and a bath. The third bedroom, which is on the ground floor, contains a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. All bedding and bath towels are provided. Guests should bring with their own swimming towels.

The open-plan living area is comfortably furnished and large glass doors open onto the balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, microwave and washing machine.

The lounge has comfortable seating and a smart TV. Free Wi-Fi is available and guest can load their own DStv Now. The living area leads out onto a large deck overlooking the vegetation of the reserve and the ocean where dolphins and whales can be viewed in season.

There is a portable gas braai available on the patio. Because of the fire hazard only charcoal is allowed in the portable braai or in the braai areas in the bush. No firewood is allowed.

The beach is 120 m from the house and accessible via a boardwalk that winds through the reserve to the beach.

In addition to the rates in the table above, this establishment also charges a once-off R650 cleaning fee per booking.

Houtbosch Bay is a complex with private cabins and not a place to party. Noise must be kept to a minimum at all times. Residents must live together in harmony and be respectful towards other residents. No resident may use radios, televisions, music playing devices, speakers or instruments in such a way that it bothers or irritates other residents.

Quiet times are between 22:00 and 06:00. Because of the fire risk, the gasbraai may not be used on the balcony or when there are strong winds.

Please drive carefully between Jeffreys Bay and Marina, since there are a lot of farm animals.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.
If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.
If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
