Makhato Lodge 106,

Makhato Lodge 106 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.

Lodge 106 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, an upstairs loft room, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, a shower, a toilet and twin washbasins. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed and has use of an adjacent bathroom with a bath, a shower, a toilet and twin washbasins. There is also a third bathroom that contains a shower only, a toilet and a washbasin. The upstairs loft room contains 2 single beds and a lounge area, and opens to a balcony.

The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven and fridge-freezer, and also has a separate scullery. The lounge offers comfortable seating and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. The dining area contains a built-in indoor braai and a 6-seater dining table and chairs. The dining area has stacker doors opening to the outdoors. The house also has its own boma with a fire pit.

Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
