Overview

River View Cottage at the Breede is situated in the tranquil town of Witsand, only 3 hours drive from Cape Town towards the Garden Route. Enjoy views of the Breede River from this quaint, but spacious Fisherman’s Cottage nestled inside the truly unique Breede River Lodge and Fishing Resort, right on the banks of the mighty Breede River.

The cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area.

The cottage has an Inverter that assists with keeping most appliances on during load shedding.

The main bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, a toilet and a washbasin. This room leads out, through a glass sliding door, onto the lovely front-facing patio – relax in bed and enjoy river views. The second bedroom is an upstairs loft bedroom and contains 2 single beds. This room is accessible by a steep wooden staircase and has a nifty skylight with views of the river. Guests do need to be able to climb stairs to sleep in the loft bedroom. The guest bathroom downstairs is fitted with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. Bedding and bath towels are provided - just bring your own beach towels and toiletries please.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a glass top stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and cutlery and crockery. There is also a breakfast bar with stools. A portable gas bottle with cooker top is available for emergencies. The lounge has a comfy lounge suite, a dining room table for 4 guests, an indoor fireplace for cosy winter time and a flat-screen TV with DSTV. Free Wi-Fi is provided.

Glass sliding doors lead out onto the river-facing patio. Relax on the patio and listen to the beautiful birdsong provided by a multitude of birds. The cottage is set towards to edge of the resort close to the resorts restaurant and the parking and main gate. There is a nice partial view of the Breede river
