The Estate and Its Features
Welgelee Estate spans over 6 acres of lush land, featuring established gardens, equestrian HORSE STABLES, and expansive grass PADDOCKS. The large, romantic pool on the estate offers a private haven for guests, especially during hot summer days. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, the estate borders the Constantia Greenbelt, a protected area that showcases the incredible indigenous flora of the Western Cape. The Greenbelt also offers scenic walking paths along a river, providing a tranquil environment for nature lovers.

Guests at Welgelee Estate have full access to the house, garden, and surrounding estate. The property is located in a quiet, private setting with just a few other homes on the estate, ensuring complete seclusion for a truly peaceful stay. While the pool is shared with the two smaller cottages, it is located in a secluded area of the estate, ensuring privacy for those staying at the main house or Silos.

Special Considerations and Services
Pets: Pets may be allowed with prior arrangement and an additional pet fee.

Day beds for children are available for an extra cost.

Housekeeping: The house is serviced on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with additional cleaning services available upon request for an extra charge. Guests receive one load of laundry service free of charge each week, with additional laundry and ironing services available at a small fee.

Winter Weather Advisory: Cape Town winters (from June to August) are known for being cold, wet, and damp, with indoor temperatures often cooler than what some guests may be accustomed to. It is highly recommended that guests pack warm clothing, including layers and rain gear. The estate provides blankets and heaters to ensure a comfortable stay, but those seeking warmer weather may prefer to visit between November and March.

Arrival Time:
Check-in is before 18:00. Late arrivals may be accommodated via key access if arranged in advance.

Children:
Young children are welcome. Parents/guardians are responsible for their safety and behavior. If you have concerns, please ask before booking.
Pool Access:

The pool is safely enclosed behind a gate and is shared with the complex. Supervision is required at all times; no unsupervised access is permitted.

Resource Use:
Water and power are limited. Please use resources responsibly. Excessive use will incur additional charges.
Guests:

No additional overnight guests are allowed.

Noise:
Keep noise to a minimum to respect neighbors. Enjoy your stay while being considerate of others.
Usage Restrictions:

The accommodation is for short-term residential rentals only. It is not for parties, receptions, festivals, meetings, commercial use, or exceeding the registered number of guests. Unauthorized commercial use will incur a charge of R10,000 per day.

Mail and Packages:
The rental does not provide a mailing address. Contact us in advance if you need to receive packages.

Wi-Fi:
The flat includes mobile LTE Wi-Fi with a 150 GB monthly limit. Additional data can be purchased at your expense.

Smoking:
Smoking is permitted only outdoors, away from doors and windows. Ensure all flames are extinguished and windows are closed after use.

Laundry:

Indemnity:
The person who made the reservation accepts responsibility for their party and agrees to the terms outlined.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy
To cancel your booking, please notify us in writing via email. The cancellation will only be effective from the date we receive your notice—this is known as the cancellation date.

Cancellation Terms:

Notice Period:
Cancellations made at least 60 days before check-in will receive a 50% refund of the total nightly rate. No refund will be provided for cancellations made less than 60 days before check-in.

Date Changes:
Requests to move booking dates may be considered based on availability and the timing of the request.
Refunds and Waivers:

Refunds and waivers of the cancellation policy are at management’s discretion and depend on the ability to re-let the property. If re-let, guests may receive a refund for the relevant portion.

Cancellation Insurance:
We strongly advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

An administrative fee of 10% will apply to all cancellations.
